There are many benefits to being involved in athletics as a young student. The personal traits one develops such as teamwork, perseverance, responsibility, physical endurance, commitment, time management, and personal and emotional health all can be carried over into college and a career. These qualities are what America is built on!

When a student decides to join an athletic team, whichever the sport, a commitment is made. They are expected to attend all practices, give 100% effort, uphold a specified GPA, and show respect to teammates, coaches, and school administrators. Teammates rely upon and support one another to reach a common goal.

There are certain standards that a student-athlete is expected to maintain. Not everyone is cut out for this lifestyle, and that’s ok. Those who are passionate about showing up each day, putting their best foot forward and are willing to commit sweat, tears and time are undeniably setting themselves up for success.
